Welcome to the Internet Book Database Working Group.
The goal of the group is to create a modular database that will collect, archive and distribute metadata for books and other media, including the distribution of public domain and copyrighted works. The product will include:
a front end for accessing licensed database services and a back end to allow access to the various services by the various libraries, software tools to check the local library, school library, work library, and friends' libraries to find a copy of a given work that they may borrow, and optionally reserve the book, and the ability to find current prices on a given title through current online resellers.
